CHRISTY LINTON ART

Christy Linton creates layered abstract paintings that explore experimentation, relinquishing control using light, texture, erosion, and renewal. Her work is rooted in the belief that art has the ability to change how you feel, not only through color and composition, but through atmosphere, presence, and emotion. Christy began painting during a season of profound personal upheaval, when the studio became a place of refuge and restoration. What started as a way to find stillness in the middle of uncertainty slowly became a visual language of healing, depth, and quiet strength. Through layered acrylics, mineral textures, charcoal, pastels, oil sticks and sometimes oils, along with unconventional unexpected materials, Christy builds surfaces that feel weathered yet luminous. Her paintings often shift with the light, revealing subtle changes throughout the day and inviting the viewer to slow down, look closer, and feel more deeply. Her connection to light, nature, water, weathered stone, and the quiet beauty found all around us invites imperfection and organic flow within her work. So themes of erosion, repair, softness, strength, and the return of light move throughout her work. All combining intuitively and almost as a meditation as she builds each painting to convey solace, energy and light reflection.
